Mississauga Property Management for a Diverse Rental Market.

Mississauga is one of Canada's most diverse cities — a mix of high-rise professionals near Square One, students close to Sheridan College and UTM, and families drawn to its established suburbs. LandLord manages Mississauga rentals with pricing and marketing built around that specific tenant mix.

Who Rents in Mississauga

A city built on three different tenant pools.

Student Strong demand near Sheridan College and UTM
30+ Years managing GTA rentals

A Square One high-rise, a Streetsville family home, and a unit near campus each attract a different renter — pricing and screening need to reflect that.

Local Compliance

Mississauga rules we handle for you.

Mississauga layers its own municipal registration requirements on top of Ontario's provincial tenancy law. We track every filing below as part of standard management.

1

Second Units Registration By-law

Basement apartments and in-law suites must be registered with the City, with fire and building code sign-off, before they can legally be rented.

2

Rental Apartment Buildings By-law

Buildings with 2+ storeys and 6+ units sharing a common area must register annually and meet minimum maintenance standards.

3

Ontario LTB Rules

Rent increases on units first occupied before Nov. 15, 2018 are capped by an annual provincial guideline. We track eligibility and timing on every unit.

4

Non-Resident Tax (NR6/S.216)

Owners living outside Canada face additional CRA withholding and filing obligations, which we coordinate on your behalf.

Mississauga Property Management FAQs

Answers to the questions Mississauga owners ask most.

Guidance on fees, management services, leasing, emergency response, rent increases, management transitions and remote ownership.

How much can I expect to pay for property management in Mississauga?

Pricing is based on the property type, number of units, current occupancy and the services required. LandLord’s property-management fee calculator gives owners a preliminary estimate before the team reviews the rental and confirms a tailored quote.

What does LandLord take care of under full-service management?

Full-service management can cover rent collection, financial reporting, tenant communication, inspections, maintenance coordination, renewals, required notices and ongoing supervision of the tenancy. The exact responsibilities are set out in the management agreement and summarized on LandLord’s property-management service page.

Can LandLord manage both condos and houses in Mississauga?

Yes. The portfolio includes condominium units, detached and semi-detached houses, townhomes, registered second units, small multi-unit properties and larger rental portfolios across Mississauga.

How does LandLord screen applicants for a Mississauga rental?

Screening can include identity verification, employment and income review, credit information, rental history and references. Each application is considered as a complete file while following Ontario housing and privacy requirements. More detail is available on LandLord’s leasing and tenant-screening page.

Do you provide tenant placement for Mississauga landlords?

Yes. It can include rental pricing, listing preparation, marketing, showings, application review, tenant screening and lease coordination. Explore LandLord’s tenant-placement and leasing services.

Who responds when a managed property has an after-hours emergency?

Managed properties have access to 24/7 emergency support. Situations involving tenant safety or the risk of substantial property damage are triaged promptly, while non-emergency repairs are documented and coordinated through the normal maintenance workflow.

How does the rent-increase process work for managed properties?

Each year, LandLord sends clients Ontario’s rent-increase guideline for the following year. When a tenancy becomes eligible, the team reviews the applicable requirements, prepares the correct notice and sends it within the required timeframe based on the owner’s instructions. Owners can also track the next eligible rent-increase date in the client portal.

Can LandLord take over management while the property is tenanted?

In many cases, yes. The tenancy can continue while the management transition takes place. The handoff may include reviewing the current management agreement and transferring leases, tenant records, keys, deposits, accounting information, maintenance history and owner instructions.

Why do Mississauga landlords hire a professional property manager?

Owners often hire a manager for local coverage, more consistent tenant communication and established systems for maintenance, accounting and notices. Professional oversight can also help limit missed deadlines, delayed repairs, extended vacancies and other preventable operating problems.

Can my Mississauga rental be managed if I live abroad or in another province?

Yes. LandLord can provide local tenant support, rent collection, maintenance coordination, owner reporting and property oversight. For owners outside Canada, the team can also coordinate the property-management side of NR6 and Section 216 administration with the owner’s tax professionals. Review non-resident property-management support.

What happens after I decide to hire LandLord?

The onboarding process starts with the property details, occupancy, lease status and the owner’s immediate goals. LandLord then reviews the available records, confirms the service scope, plans the handoff and identifies the first operational priorities. Start by contacting the Mississauga property-management team.
