The best sites to list your rental in Toronto

When you decide to rent out your home or your investment property, the first question you will ask is, where do I advertise my listing? There are several alternatives but we have put together a list of the top 7 website for listing your rental property in Toronto.

7. RENTCANADA – Canada’s Apartment Rental Guide

RentCanada is similar to the previous two; excellent user experience for the renters, easy to post once you have signed up, and there are premium versions after signup. They also offer potential tenants a “Save Alert” feature, which will email them when new, similar listings are posted.

6. RENT BOARD – Toronto Rental Listings

RentBoard.ca is a Canadian company with ties to Federation of Rental-housing Providers of Ontario (FRPO) and Greater Toronto Apartment Association (GTTA) and offer discounts to their members. They claim to be the fasted and easiest way to rent your property.

5. CRAIGSLIST – Apartments / Housing for Rent

Craigslist is an all-in-one classified advertising platform devoted to multiple categories including jobs, housing, sales, services and more. It is broken down by region and includes areas in Toronto and the GTA. Posting is free but more advanced features are available for paid classified ads.

4. KIJIJI – Long Term Rentals

Kijiji is another all-in-one classified advertising platform with a cleaner design and more functionality than Craigslist. You can also post here for free but paying will bring your listings to the top of the page for a longer period of time.

3. ZUMPER – Toronto Apartments for Rent

Zumper also has an excellent user experience on the tenant side. It even allows you to draw your own search radius directly on the map. To list on Zumper, you will need to sign up. It’s free to get started but they offer plenty of up-sells like rent screening and rent collection.

2. PADMAPPER – Toronto ON Apartments for Rent

PadMapper works best as an app. As a homeowner, you will have to download the app to list your property. To list multiple properties, you will need PadMapper Pro.

Their mission, according to their website is to “make finding an apartment suck less.” And mission accomplished.

So far on this list, the user experience on PadMapper is easily the best. It’s easy to browse, easy to filter, and it greys out which Pads you’ve already looked at.
